Working at you own speed

I just read an interesting article on the "ARTIST's Network University" website by Richard McKinley.
When discussing tips on how to "loosen up" while painting, and to avoid over-rendered painting, he states:
" Some of us are meant to methodically walk, some to
exuberantly run, and some to spontaneously dance while painting. It is the
crossing of the painting finish line that matters."

I agree! It is the thrill of finishing  a work that leads me to begin another one. Painting is now an enjoyable excercise for me, rather than a chore, simply because I have learned to ENJOY THE PROCESS. The result is, in my opinion, better paintings!
